Thank You, Clients and Partners

The biggest challenge since March, 2020—for both employers and executive search firms like HCCP—has been finding, attracting, hiring, and retaining talent. As someone who has recruited talent for over 25 years, I have never seen challenges like those we have been experiencing since the start of the pandemic.

My advice to all my clients is to think outside the box when recruiting talent. You can no longer recruit the way you did in 2019 and must think about different ways to attract and retain talent. I hope you find my suggestions useful as you begin to think outside YOUR box when recruiting talent.

  1. Engage with your employees
  2. Ensure your starting salaries are competitive
  3. Implement an employee referral program
  4. Consider a signing bonus
  5. Pay for training courses at trade schools, community colleges or universities
  6. Develop a flexible work schedule
  7. Improve your internal recruiting processes

Recruiting will never go back to the way it was in 2019. What employers are experiencing now is indeed the new normal. Yes, you may fill your open positions, but to find the right talent, you must be willing to think differently and be willing to implement some new approaches.

I’d like to take a moment to thank our clients and our partners for all you have done to support our Executive Search practice. While we have all had to adjust and make compromises to our hiring processes, we have, in fact, adapted. As an understatement, “Hiring and retaining the right people has become more competitive than ever.”
